In a recent role, I was tasked with re-imagining an existing SAAS product that was to be installed across a large number of sites with a known network setup. This offered us the opportunity to bubble up related network info to empower users with little IT knowledge to get a simplified overview of the network as well as provide experienced Admins with a series of streamlined tools.

Given an impossibly small timeframe, I made the decision to keep as much of the original structure and spice up with a more modern palette to save having to overhaul the codebase and to invest in firming up the flow and experience. A decision at the 11th hour from management opened the opportunity to invest more time in overhauling the look keeping all the gains in experience that had been established.

I would've loved to explore the initial darker feel given the intent of dashboards is a targeted overview and yet sometimes you have to cede a battle to win the war.
